| The Beautiful City of Seattle |
Seattle - the largest city in the north-western United States and in Washington in particular, a major seaport. The city is the administrative center of King County. Located between the Puget Sound and Lake Washington.
The first European settlement on the site of Seattle was founded November 13, 1851 a group of Arthur Denny and called New York Alki, which roughly translates to the Chinook dialect as "The future of New York." In 1853, David "Doc" Maynard proposed to rename the main settlement in Seattle, in honor of the leader of the local tribes and sukvomish duvamish.
